FRYDERYK WITH HIS FAMILY
Justyna and Mikołaj Chopin had three daughters: Ludwika, Izabella and Emilia and a son Fryderyk. The whole Chopin family had a gift for music.
STAGECOACH
Young Fryderyk travelled a lot. During his holiday journeys he visited among others: Sanniki, Szafarnia, Toruń, Wieliczka, Antonin, Gdańsk, Poturzyn and Duszniki-Zdrój.
POLISH LANDSCAPE
From Fryderyk's letters we know that after his departure to Paris he was homesick for Poland.
MANSION IN ŻELAZOWA WOLA
For the first six months of life, Fryderyk lived with his parents in the mansion belonging to the Skarbek family. Next, the Chopin family moved to Warsaw. Today in Żelazowa Wola we can visit a splendid museum surrounded by a large park.
FRYDERYK CHOPIN AND GEORGE SAND
Fryderyk's friend, George Sand, was a famous French writer.
MAZOVIANS
Mazur was Fryderyk's favourite dance. Folk rhythms and melodies from the Mazovia region often appear in his compositions.
CONCERT IN RADZIWIŁŁ'S SALON.
Fryderyk Chopin did not enjoy concerts in large halls. He preferred chamber concerts, among his friends and several invited guests.
CHURCH IN BROCHÓW
Saint Roch Church is connected with the Chopin family. On the 23rd of April, 1810, little Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin was baptised here. Moreover, two weddings took place here: composer parents' and many years later, also his older sister's, Ludwika.
KRAKOWSKIE PRZEDMIEŚCIE STREET IN WARSAW
For almost 20 years, Fryderyk Chopin lived in the vicinity of the present-day University of Warsaw. The University's buildings are located at the Krakowskie Przedmieście Street.
MONUMENT IN THE ROYAL BATHS PARK IN WARSAW
Fryderyk Chopin is sitting under the willow tree in the Warsaw's park. Piano recitals took place at his feet in spring and autumn every year.
PLEYEL PIANO
The Composer's favourite instrument was the Pleyel piano. The original instrument from his apartment at the Vendôme square in Paris is exhibited in the Fryderyk Chopin Museum in Warsaw.
